Sugar Creek was built between 1972 and 1983, and its original windows are the clearest single example of the era in Sugar Land: aluminum frames, single-pane glass, and the large fixed picture windows that the golf-course setting encouraged.
Aluminum was the dominant residential window frame material through the 1970s. It is durable and it has held up structurally in a lot of these homes — which is exactly why so many are still in place.
